omg The Godfather is on. I used to be obsessed with that fucking movie. You don’t undertstand. I knew it word for word, shot for shot, I knew every edit, every cut and why. I knew the entire history of the production, how everyone was brought onto the project, Mario Puzo’s involvement (you don’t have to read the book. Some of it is pretty good, most of it is terrible), I knew every time Coppola had a nervous breakdown, every time he was fucking fired from the movie while making it (it was many. MANY TIMES)

I still have a small library of books JUST about the history and making of this movie. My favorite, and most honest, is this small out of print production diary that was published and sold for a very brief time when the movie was first released. That shit is VERY telling about the racial attitudes not just on set, but during that time in general. Just uggghhhh I love this movie. There is still so much useless trivia taking up brainspace in my head.

I guess I just like movies about bad people in general. They’ll never disappoint you. You can always count on bad people to be bad people.

also Robert Duvall as Tom Hagen was brilliant fucking casting

also Al Pacino in that uniform at the beginning kinda did it for me when I was younger :p
